Coach’s Log

I went into my final year of Jr Highschool eager to hit the baseball field, but more importantly to take advantage of our team rule: Older players get to choose their jersey number. 
I’d been eyeing that number 11 jersey and it was going to be mine! 

Jersey numbers mattered to us and we usually wore what we wanted. 
But in school ball, when you’re the younger player you get what’s leftover and fits.
Basically .. you wear the number that finds you. 

I waited for my brother to get home that night eager to hear if he made the high school team and more importantly what number he got. 
He came home smiling to tell me he ….
